4 channel DMX-Splitter, DIN Rail, RDM

The 3404C-H is a DMX splitter intended for DIN rail mount on standard 35mm rails. Simply click onto rail to install, or pull yellow release lever to unlock.

The DMX splitter consists of a DMX IN data input, one direct DMX THRU output and four electrically isolated DMX OUT data outputs. Since all outputs are individually electrically isolated, a defective fixture connected to one output will neither affect other outputs nor DMX IN or DMX THRU data. This dramatically improves overall system stability and system reliability.

The 3404C-H is fully DMX RDM compatible, operates in bidirectional mode and supports E1-20 and E1-37 DMX RDM standards. Multiple splitters can be used in parallel to provide more output branches. Using individual branch discovery, only devices connected to one output are discovered simultaneously. This reduces the number of logical devices per discovery run, lowering signal noise and speeding up the total discovery process.

True signal analysis
While the DMX splitter does not modify DMX signal contents or timing parameters, it monitors the signal and reports signal properties when allowable limites are reached. The number of data slots contained in the actual data telegram is displayed, and DMX RDM data traffic is identified and displayed as „rdn“.

Transparent device
The 3404C-H is fully RDM compatible, but it does not appear as RDM device itself. Thus the 3404C-H does not show any RDM properties. This does neither affect the number of connected RDM devices nor RDM functionality. This behaviour is known as „transparent“: effective, inconspicious. Since the 3404C-H only cares about the standardized structure of RDM commands, and does not care about contents, on of it’s big advantages is to function absoluteley independent of signal contents. Thus future changes or amendments to RDM commands will never affect the 3404C-H: this splitter will function always.
