The 7048D-H is a specialized version of the of the well renowned 7044B-H, driving a complete standard DALI bus. This allows to drive multiple devices on the DALI bus, and this also allows to drive DALI units occupying different DALI addresses. The 7048D-H converts DMX512 data into DALI DT8 control data to drive RGBW colour fixtures. White is considered to be a single fixed color; to drive tuneable white fixtures use the decoder 7048C-H instead.
Alternatively, the 7048D-H can be configured to drive DALI group addresses. The decoder is configured to drive 1..16 addresses, since this allows sufficient data troughput on the slow DALI bus. The decoder can be reconfigured to DALI broadcast mode (all connected devices, even unaddressed DALI devices, will respond simultaneously).
Please note, that DALI signal delays* may occur due to high traffic on the DALI bus when driving multiple addresses simultaneously. This is due to the fact that a full DT8 command sequence must be composed of several standard DALI commands (here: 12 commands), and the quite slow DALI bus speed.
